As travel demand heats up, airlines across the globe are slashing fares in a fierce competition for passengers.

From Aer Lingus' €31 European getaways to Delta and Virgin Atlantic's long-haul discounts, now is the perfect time to book a budget-friendly trip. But with deals disappearing fast, travelers need to act quickly to secure the best offers.
To popular European destinations
Aer Lingus has announced a significant sale on flights to popular European destinations, with fares starting as low as €31.
The airline's latest promotion comes as demand for summer travel surges, with travelers eager to secure affordable getaways.
«We are excited to offer our customers a chance to book their summer trips at great prices,» an Aer Lingus spokesperson told The Sun. «With more people planning vacations, this sale is a fantastic opportunity to explore new destinations without breaking the bank.»
Among the lowest
The sale, which runs until March 11, includes discounted flights to popular sun destinations such as Alicante, Malaga, Gran Canaria, and Tenerife. Greek islands like Corfu and Santorini are also featured, alongside major city break locations such as Amsterdam, Lisbon, and Milan.
«These prices are among the lowest we’ve seen in recent months,» said travel analyst Mark O’Reilly. «With ongoing economic concerns and fluctuating travel costs, budget-conscious travelers are jumping on these deals.»
Experts warns
In addition to low fares, Aer Lingus is offering a 20% discount on baggage for selected routes. The airline has also introduced an Avios-Only flight for AerClub members, allowing them to book return seats to Faro, Portugal, for 15,000 Avios points plus taxes and fees.
Despite the appeal of these discounts, some industry experts warn that travelers should remain aware of potential price hikes on accommodation and other travel expenses. «Flight prices may be dropping, but hotel rates in key tourist areas continue to rise,» said economist Laura Byrne. «Planning ahead is crucial to making the most of these deals.»
Fill planes early
The travel period for the discounted flights spans from April 28 to August 31, covering peak holiday months. Many industry watchers believe such aggressive promotions reflect the airline industry's strategy to fill planes early in the season.
«Airlines are competing for passengers in a post-pandemic landscape where consumer habits have shifted,» said aviation consultant David Keane. «This type of sale is not just about offering deals but also about securing bookings well in advance.»
