Opened in 1972, Tivoli World was a premier entertainment destination, attracting millions of visitors with its diverse attractions and live performances. However, financial difficulties and the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic led to its closure in 2020.

€100 and €200 million

In February 2025, a landmark agreement was reached between the Benalmádena City Council and Grupo Tremón, the park's real estate owner, to revitalize the site. The ambitious project, with an investment ranging between €100 and €200 million, aims not only to restore the amusement park but also to expand its offerings. Plans include the development of a commercial center and the construction of two hotels, enhancing the area's appeal as a comprehensive tourist destination. The project is expected to take approximately two years to complete, with the reopening anticipated by 2027.

Eagerly awaited

The revival of Tivoli World is poised to have a substantial positive impact on the local economy, generating employment opportunities and boosting tourism. The park's reopening is eagerly awaited by both former employees and the community, who have long advocated for its restoration.

In contrast, Selwo Marina, another prominent attraction in Benalmádena, continues to operate successfully. This marine park offers visitors interactive experiences with dolphins, sea lions, and other marine life, contributing to the region's diverse leisure activities.
